This is For The Weird Kids

Luis Quintanilla is a musician from Houston, who is representing all the “weird kids” from Austin. He is the only musician is his family, but he takes pride in writing music everyday. He is currently in school, but his dream is to one day make a living off

what he loves to do, which is making music. True success to him is being able not work and get paid for it. In other words, making music to him is not a job but rather a passion. Making money from doing what he loves to do would be a dream come true. Music has revealed to him a completely different outlook on life. In his words, “My music has shown me different cultures and has made me more aware of different issues in society.” Although he has never been in a cypher, he has had an impromptu show where he gathered all his friends around and started to perform his music. Many describe perfecting

a craft as a major achievement, but Luis describes his friends as his greatest achievement. His main target audience is anyone who just wants to be themselves. He wants others to know it is okay to have fun and show your feelings. His plan to stay relevant in this rapidly changing society is to just stay true to himself. In order to perfect his craft, he just needs to practice on his performance, so he can really amaze the crowd. Soon, he can see himself on major stages touring the world. He wants others to continue pushing themselves because “nobody else will push you like you.”
